Our Story

Choice. Flexibility. Control.

We work closely with schools across the country to develop a health plan strategy tailored to their specific needs.

ISBC enables schools to take a deep dive into employee claims. We then help them use that data to set their short- and long-term goals to improve employee well-being and lower claims and costs.

Our member schools maintain flexibility in plan design while achieving market strength by joining similar schools in a preferred risk pool. This helps employees reach their optimal health while protecting the school from marketplace volatility.

Creating New Paths For Independent Firms

Our Mission

We use the power of data, financial transparency, and emerging technologies to help independent schools be good stewards of their financial resources and achieve their goals of taking care of their most precious resource – their employees.

Governance

A Subscriber Advisory Committee (SAC) functions like a board of directors. The SAC consists of representatives from participating schools and the program manager. All financial decisions are made at the SAC level as required by the North Carolina Department of Insurance.

Additionally, a subgroup called the Ambassadors Committee has been established to provide to the SAC feedback and industry perspective to promote the growth of the ISBC and maintain satisfaction of its participating schools.
